Panel Discussions

I often join panels to talk about writing, storytelling, and what it’s like to navigate the publishing world as an author of colour. Other topics I’m happy to discuss: pop-culture, history, music, and cinema.

Talks and Bookclub Discussions

In my talks and bookclub visits, I usually focus on my writing process and publishing journey: where ideas come from and how they evolve into books.

Q&A Sessions

I’m happy to answer questions about writing habits, publishing, creativity, or anything else that might help someone feel inspired to tell their own story and learn more about what life as an author is like.

School Visits

Since I have a passion for empowering young people through writing, I love meeting secondary and university students. During these visits, I usually lead Q&A sessions and writing workshops, hoping to use the arts to inspire students to discover their own voices.

Writing Workshops & Mentorship

Some of the workshops I run include:

Pitching Book Ideas – How to identify what makes your idea stand out and how to pitch it effectively to agents and publishers.

Building and Deepening Characters – Practical tips and fun exercises to help you create layered, believable characters with rich inner lives.

Life Free-Writing – Full of writing prompts to unlock creativity and empower your sense of self. This workshop can be tailored to specific audiences, and is also suitable for non-writers.

World-Building – Exercises to help you create immersive, detailed fantasy worlds that feel lived-in to readers.

My workshops prioritise:

  • Creativity and experimentation – there is no “right” way to write!
  • Confidence – helping you feel brave enough to share your writing with others, and form writing friendships.
  • An open, friendly atmosphere – where everyone feels welcome and supported.
